When I click OK, the SVG file opens anyway and I can see it's content. I also get the same error message when opening a SVG file. I also have problem with some PDF files that I could open in Adobe Illustrator earlier, but today the PDF files will not open in Illustrator. I don't think this has to do with the free online barcode service. I'm not sure yet how much it will affect my work. But I also reverted to 23.0.5, but I got the same problem there. I am using Adobe Illustrator version 23.1 (I think I got that update today or yesterday). The same error message was mentioned in some other Adobe community threads, but those posts didn't help me, and the symptons were not exactly the same. I have tried to uninstall and delete the Illustrator preferences and then reinstall it, and also running Illustrator as admin. * I was able to open some old EPS files I already had on my computer. The AI file could be opened in Illustrator with no problems. * The online barcode creator also created AI version of the barcode. * I got the same error when trying to open some SVG files and JPG files in Illustrator that I already had on my computer. * I was able to preview the same EPS file in other programs, such as Adobe Bridge and LibreOffice Draw. * As mentioned I could not open the EPS file itself, but I was in fact able to place the same EPS file inside other Illustrator documents (but then the barcode shows up as an embeded object that I can't edit). When opening the file in Illustrator, the Illustrator app froze for 15 seconds and then this error appeared: "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error." When clicking "OK", the EPS file opens but the document is empty. I downloaded the EPS version of the barcode. The following error appeared for the first time today for me.
